For the best chess coaching, quizzes and much more goodies, you have come to the right place. Forget about games like roulette that can cost you money, chess is a game of real skill!.
chesspupil.com uses its own online chess server, you can play chess any time you wish, 24 hours a day, completely free!!
Many sites offer online chess systems, but they're "turn based", and users are only allowed to make a move and then wait till their opponent replies, and sometimes it can take hours or even days!
Our online system lets you play some pretty fast chess: 1 minute per player, 2 minutes, 3, 4... whatever you want, and yes, you can use time increments as well!
Registered players are given a new rating of 1200 points.
You DON´T need to download any software in order to be able to play, as long as you have java installed on your computer (if you use your web-browser regularly, you probably have it already)
Here are some pictures showing how our on-line system works:
This is the screen you get when you log on (imaged resized to feet our page):

How to adjust program options.

As mentioned earlier on, the only requirement in order to be able to play online is to have java installed on your computer (You probably have it already. If you don't, you'll get a link so that you can download it).
The software is completely user friendly.
Here's the options screens:

You can adjust the program options at any time.

As you can see in the the screen shot above, adjusting the options is very easy.

Important recommendations:

Attention! Switch animation off. Simply click on "animation off". This will make the software work a little bit faster.
Attention! Make sure your computer's sound is switched on. This way you'll be able to save some valuable time everytime your opponent makes a move, as you'll hear the sound of the piece moving, and also everytime someone accepts a challenge you'll also hear a sound.

How to adjust time controls.

Before you challenge someone, make sure you choose the time control you wish to use.

Important:

Attention! AVOID PLAYING WITH NO TIME, as your opponent could just stall and wait till you got tied of waiting and you'd be forced to quit sooner or later.

También es muy importante que ajuste el incremento de tiempo por cada jugada que se realiza:

With this option, every time you make a move, you'll be given some extra time. How much? that's for you to adjust!

Important:

Attention! We recommend that you use a time increment of at least 1 second (2 is probably best).

Choose an opponent!

Challenging a player is very simple. As you can see on the screenshot above, you'll get a list of players, some of which appear in grey colour and others in black. If a player's nickname appears in black, it means he's available. The grey colour means he's busy playing against someone else.
You can only challenge players with a black nickname.
Tu invite a player, use your mouse pointer to highlight the nickname, then adjust the time control and time increment and then you can click on the "invite" button which appears below the list of players. You can invite several players until one of them accepts your challenge. You don't need to re-adjust the time controls or increment everytime you challenge someone.

To accept an incoming challenge is even easier! Check the challenges window where you'll see all the invitations. You'll see the user's nickname, rating and time control... all you need to do is click on the invitation you wish to accept to start playing!!
